With the larger studs and coarse thread types material selection is important leeway is best with studs.
Normally EN3B is the prefered Medium Tensile Steel EN8 Steel is High Tensile but in practice is extremely hard and un-friendly, EN8 will easily strip a female thread - Head nut stripping is prefered to the stud pulling out of the block With a resulting helicoil insert to repair the thread in the block. Can also manufacture studs with different thread types and sizes and suggest a small radius is created for a smooth change in dimension as this will help to reduce the possibility of stress cracks. Smooth is prefered to sharp corners..
